On date 31 July 2024, The Assam cabinet Meeting held under the leadership Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has declared that- The Assam Rupsi airport located in the Dhubri will be renamed as the Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma Airport, as a mark of tribute towards the contribution of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma in developing the Bodo society.

Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma is known as the social and religious reformer in 20th century and religious preacher of the Brahma faith among and for the Bodo community. He was born on 18th April 1860 in Kajigaon village, Kokrajhar district (Earlier known as Dhubri District) Assam, India.
