About ITI Institute
Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Colleges are set up to train workers with practical skills needed by industries. It offers job-oriented technician as well as non-technician courses for both male and female students and also provide training beneficial for starting their own businesses.
ITI help reduce unemployment among educated youths by offering courses that prepare them for jobs in various fields.
After completing their training, students receive NCVT certificates for NCVT trades, and SCVT certificates for SCVT trades, issued respectively by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) at the national level and State Councils for Vocational Training (SCVT) at the state level.
News Relate BTR ITI
During the BTR Budget 2024 sessions held on June 18 and 19 at BTCLA House in Bodofa Nwgwr, Kokrajhar, important announcements were made. The number of ITIs has increased from 4 in 2020 to 11 in 2023-24, and the number of seats in these ITIs has risen by 233%, from 544 seats to 1268 seats over the same period.
Moreover, it was announced that starting from 2024-25, a minimum of two ITIs to be linked with the programme for empowerment of differently abled person to offer vocational training for persons with disabilities.
