KDSA Kokrajhar: The Kokrajhar District Sports Association Playground also known as K.D.S.A Indoor Stadium or K.D.S.A Playground, is a multipurpose sports facility in Kokrajhar, Assam, India. It is located near Kokrajhar Government College and Kokrajhar Vidyapith High School.
The ground serves as a central spot for sports and community activities, supporting various sports, including yoga, and hosting cultural and recreational events.
The KDSA Playground also host events such as the Kokrajhar Football League, the Bodoland Martyrs Gold Cup, sub-junior competitions, the Inter Club Volleyball Championship, and many more.
Binode Brahma Statue in KDSA Kokrajhar
The KDSA Ground features a statue of the late Binode Brahma, a famous Bodo footballer also known as Binod Dabla.
Binode Brahma, known as the “King of Football” was a major influence in football in Kokrajhar, Assam. He was born on July 26, 1924, in Khagrabari village, Kokrajhar district, to Khagendra Nath Brahma and Mwtheb Brahma.
Brahma’s football career started in 1939 when he joined the Kokrajhar Union Sporting Club while studying at Kokrajhar ME School. In 1948, he founded the Tribal Sporting Club and participated in the Inter District Football Tournaments.
Later, he joined the Guwahati Town Club and played for the Assam team in the Santosh Trophy.
