Kanakeswar Narzary was born on 2 January 1943, in Tengagaon village under Serfanguri Police Station in Kokrajhar District, Assam. He was the founder general secretary of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) and later served as the chief of Bodoland Autonomous Council (BAC). His parents were Narayan Narzary and Dwislung Narzary.
He was highly respected within the Bodo community and known as “Khungkra” for his leadership and efforts to uplift the welfare of Bodo and tribal people. Besides his political pursuits, he was also recognized as a writer for his contributions to Bodo literature.
Kanakeswar Narzary passed away on 12 October 2003 (aged 60), at a private nursing home in Kolkata.

Kanakeswar Narzary Education
Kanakeswar Narzary began his schooling in Gosainichina village. After completing his final exams at MV School, he continued his education at Sapatgram Amalgamated Academy and passed his matriculation exam in 1964. In 1965, he cleared his P.U. exams and BA Honours in Political Science from Kokrajhar College in 1968.
