As per the Assam cabinet meeting held in 24 September 2024 led by the Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma, A decision was taken to boost technical education and skills through polytechnic. So therefore the government took a decision to Inaugurate 3 new polytechnic institute at Hojai Majuli and Tingkhong.
