Bodoland University Kokrajhar

Bodoland University in Kokrajhar district is the very first university in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Within the region, there exist three universities, all of which are located in Kokrajhar district. The three universities are:

• Bodoland University
• Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar
• Kokrajhar Govt College (Newly introduced as University)

These universities play an important role in catering to the educational needs of the five districts encompassing Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Udalguri, and Tamulpur. However, the focus of this article will solely be on Bodoland University.

About Bodoland Univertsity

Bodoland University was established in 2009 by the Assam Legislative Assembly under the Bodoland University Act, 2009. The university aims to enhance education in lower Assam, particularly the BTAD region.

Bodoland University offers educational opportunities with 17 PG Departments, 48 Affiliated Degree Colleges, 4 DIETs, and 3 B.Ed. Colleges, following the UGC’s Choice-Based Credit System.

Facilities

The university also provides various facilities such as a Health Centre, Technology Incubation Centre, Intellectual Property Right Cell, Bus service, Hostel Facilities, and Padmashri Modaram Brahma Central Library.

Location

The university is located in Rangilakhata, Debargaon, just 8 kilometers north of Kokrajhar town.
