Assam Panchayat Election 2025
The Assam Panchayat election refers to the elections conducted in the Indian state of Assam to elect representatives to rural local self-governance institutions, collectively called Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).
The Assam Panchayat elections are held periodically, generally every five years, under the supervision of the State Election Commission. These elections empower local governance by allowing communities to directly participate in administrative and developmental decisions related to rural infrastructure, education, health, water supply, and welfare schemes.
The panchayat election in Assam will be held in all districts only, excluding the Sixth Schedule, which contains a total of 8 districts and municipal areas, ensuring that rural communities actively participate in shaping their development.
Assam Panchayat Election 2025 Schedule
As per the critical decision of the Cabinet meeting, the initial voter list will be published on 30 December 2024, and the schedule of the Assam panchayat election is to be published by the first week of January 2025.
