Assam Cabinet Meeting 10 January 2025 : During the recent Assam Cabinet meeting held on January 10, 2025, under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, several key decisions were taken. These included: restructuring of the directorate of town and country planning of Assam, 2 additional posts of Joint Directors, and 46 new posts, establishment of milk processing plants, scheme to dairy farmers, notification of the oil palm crop, guidelines for the declaration of industrial estates, 2 tea tourism projects, ensuring lands to indigenous communities, relief to small traders and provincialisation of schools.
Assam Cabinet Meeting Decision 10 January 2025
The following are the key Cabinet decisions highlighted in the recent meeting.
1. Cabinet has approved the restructuring of the Directorate of Town and Country Planning, Assam.
2. Cabinet has approved 2 additional posts of Joint Directors, and 46 new posts like GIS Expert, Specialist Architect.
3. Cabinet has approved the establishment of two milk processing plants in Jorhat and Dibrugarh with a capacity of 100 TLPD each.
4. Cabinet has approved a scheme to provide subsidy of Rs. 5 per liter via DBT to dairy farmers.
5. Cabinet has approved notification of the Oil Palm Crop as a Cash Crop in Assam.
6. Cabinet has approved guidelines for the declaration of industrial estates for promotion and development of Wood based industries.
7. Cabinet has approved 2 tea tourism projects.
8. Cabinet has approved non conversion of Deochali PRF to Reserve Forest in Dibrugarh and manual applications under Mission Basundhara till January 31 for public institutions.
9. Cabinet has exempted small vegetable and paan-tamul vendors from paying ‘fees’ to Mahaldars.
10. Schools will be provincialised, a sub-committee has been established by the Cabinet to study all aspects of exclusion and suggest measures for inclusion.
