The Assam Government has introduced an Abhinandan Education Loan Subsidy Scheme 2.0, led by the Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma, The purpose of this loan is for the students to support financial in pursuing higher studies by offering a subsidy of up to Rs.50,000 on education loans sanctioned between April 1, 2020 March 31, 2024.

What is Abhinandan Education Loan Subsidy Scheme 2.0 ?
Abhinandan Education is scheme that provide sustainable subsidy up to Rs.50,000 ,This scheme aims to support and encourage students pursuing higher studies, The Scheme is led by Assam’s Chief Minister, This Scheme encourages more student for pursuing Higher studies contributing to State Education Development. Under the Abhinandan Scheme all major banks and commercial banks are included such as Federal Bank and HDFC.
Eligibility Criteria for Assam Students Loan 2024
The students must meet the eligible criteria given below to apply for the Abhinandan Education Loan 2.0
- The Student must be a permanent Resident of Assam.
- Education Loan of amount at least 2lakh must have been taken from a commercial bank or a regional rural bank within Assam, recognized by the reserve bank of India by the student.
- Son and Daughter of the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) and the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) are not eligible to apply for the Scheme.
- The Education Loan that has been declared as the NPA ( Non Performing Assets) is not eligible for the loan.
- If the Loan submission is delayed than his/her loan application will be rejected and will not be eligible for the education loan scheme.
