About KMCH
Kokrajhar Medical College and Hospital (KMCH) was established in 2023 in Kokrajhar, Assam. It is affiliated with Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS).
The foundation stone for KMCH was laid on January 6, 2019. The college operates as a 500-bed hospital and admits 100 MBBS students per year.
KMCH was established by the Government of Assam and received accreditation from the National Medical Commission (NMC) on January 31, 2023. It was granted a Letter of Intent (LOI) on February 14, 2023, followed by a Letter of Permission (LOP) on February 22, 2023, allowing it to start admitting students annually.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally inaugurated Kokrajhar Medical College and Hospital and Nursing College on April 14, 2023, through a virtual event hosted from AIIMS, Guwahati.
