SEBA Introduces AI and Robotics as Elective Subject: In a notification issued recently, the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) announced the addition of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics as a new elective subject for class IX and X students in the upcoming academic calendar.
SEBA Added AI and Robotics as Elective Subject
With the rapid growth in the field of AI, Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) has introduced a new elective subject named ‘Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics’ for class IX starting from the academic session 2024-25 and for class X students from the academic session 2025-26.
The textbook in PDF format are available on SEBA’s official website (www.sebaonline.org), or students can also buy it from open market.
SEBA has also modified the assessment pattern, giving more importance to practical components for vocational subjects.
From the academic session 2024-25, practical marks for vocational subjects will be 50% of the total marks, covering various subjects like Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Garment Designing, Woodcraft, Music, Dance, Yoga, Physical Education, Fine Arts, Home Science, Weaving and Textile Design, and those under the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF).
However, practical marks for Computer Science and Commerce subjects will remain 30%.
Another change is that the District Level Internal Examination Committee will oversee practical exams instead of center-level assessments.
