The Assam government has launched a scheme name “Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyaan” (MMUA) aiming to support the state women of SHG ( Self Help Group) members to become Rural Micro – Entrepreneurs/ Lakhpati Baideu and encourage them to earn an annual income of minimum Rs.1.00 Lakh through financial assistance as Grant in-aid in the form of Entrepreneurship Fund.

What is Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyaan ?
MMUA Scheme is an initiative by the Assam government aimed at empowering women Self Help Group (SHG) members to become successful rural micro-entrepreneurs, also known as Lakhpati Baidu. This scheme seeks to provide financial support to these women, enabling them to earn a minimum annual income of Rs. 1 lakh.
The program’s primary objective is to promote financial independence among women in Assam by encouraging them to start their businesses. The government will provide financial assistance of Rs. 35,000 to eligible women, helping them to establish and grow their enterprises.
Eligibility Criteria
The Assam government has issued Guidelines and Eligibility Criteria. Eligibility Criteria and Guidelines are given below
- She must be an active member of the SHGs promoted under ASRLM.
- She must have a valid, operational/active Aadhaar seeded Savings Bank Account.
- There should not be more than 4 Children for SC/ST/Moran and Tea Tribe Beneficiaries.
- If the woman has girls of school-going age, they must be compulsorily enrolled.
- Under the scheme, the woman must have planted a sapling during the ‘Amrit Vriksha Abhiyan,’ that sapling must be alive.
- Women have to submit a resolution form to limit the number of children in the future.
MMUA Application Process
- Applications under the Chief Minister Women Entrepreneurship Campaign are submitted offline.
- Beneficiary women can get the application form from their respective Panchayat office.
- Application forms are available free of cost, and the applicant has to submit them in original.
- The application form must attach all required documents like Aadhar card, bank details, self-help group-related documents, passport-size photo, and business plan details.
